The Art of Islamic Pattern
San Francisco Bay Area, Summer 2011
In the summer of 2011 Art of Islamic Pattern were guest lecturers at Barakah Life studios in the Bay Area. They also gave a public lecture at Zaytuna College, Berkeley. Art of Islamic Pattern demonstrated traditional methods, including geometry and free-hand biomorphic design (Arabesque), to create a
series of beautiful patterns from across the Islamic world. The Barakah Life students went on the recreate the patterns in plaster and other media.
